explains more. >> reporter: legal analysts tylosis tell us -- tallols whether the death will lead to legal liability for the city of san francisco. >> very difficult and devastating news for allovers. >> san francisco fire chief says she is heart bring news at the san mateo coroner's office that the 16-year-old yen meng yuan was killed by a first responder's vehicle. investigators say she was struck by an airport response firefighterring rig as scores of firefighters headed to the runway. >> she was not standing up. she was on the ground when our rig made contact with her. a rig or possibility two. that haps not been determined either. the san francisco mayor's office offered condolences to her family and say they have offered to meet face to face with her parents.

video still shot of the man who was in the store sunday, june 23rd around 3:00. the surveillance shows the man walking down a corridor and then luring a 10-year-old girl to an isolated area. police say he then exposed himself to that little girl and also had inappropriate physical contact with her. he was seen getting into a dirty black or gray four door parking lot. anyone with information is asked to call police. a woman who said she was raped and robbed at outside's music festival in san francisco has now filed a lawsuit against the organizer of the event. in that lawsuit the woman says she was assaulted in a wooden area of golden gate park and did not get any help from security. three women reported being sexually assaulted during last year's festival. organizers have not commented on the lawsuit but have said safety is their top concern. over this past week we have shown you how violent protest in oakland over the george

zimmerman verdict caused 10s of thousands of dollars in damages to local businesses. hundreds took to the streets after zimmerman was acquitted in the death of trayvon martin. many spray painted buildings, broke windows and some attacked bystanders. ktvu's consumer editor tom vacar takes a look at how those violent protest are affecting businesses. >> reporter: more than a few business people are wondering what is going to be the incident that provides the last straw that breaks the camel's back. >> as replacement crews install glass today in downtown oakland, other businesses were leaving their board up waiting to see what happens this weekend. >> when these protest events that include violence and destruction of property is happening, it scares potential customers away. >> the owners say they belief

impacted. it is fewer jobs hire. >> i still want people to come and enjoy oakland. >> that's why some businesses feel for now boarding up windows and looking up and removing their valuables is the best way to go. reporting live, tom vacar, ktvu 2 news. police are looking for a gunman in a deadly armed robbery. an off duty sheriff's deputy shot and killed the first gunman. the deputy just happened to be in the store when the two men came in with guns and wearing masks if. the second gunman was wounded and got away. did find there was a local hospital that reported having somebody come in with an unexplained gunshot wound. >> investigators are trying to figure out now if the man at the hospital was connected to the robbery. police say the two robbers could also be the same men who robbed the store last week. that time the men pistol

whipped an employee and made off with an undisclosed amount of money. pretty big financial company, the rural metro corporation which serves 2 million people in santa clara county is struggling to pay its bills. county officials are now reportedly looking for a back up plan if the arizona based company goes belly up. back in may they downgraded the company's credit rating to junk status. things have changed when it comes to the b.a.r.t negotiations. both sides came out a half hour ago and spoke publicly. jade hernandez is there and live where the two greens have been negotiating trying to stop another strike. >> reporter: union negotiator are also stood here and told us the chief negotiator for b.a.r.t would not be available as he said he would be next monday and tuesday. b.a.r.t officials would not be back to the negotiating table until july 29th. >> i want to ask the board of

directors and the general manager to please appoint another chief negotiator to be available top negotiate with the two unions if beginning monday. the union will be back here on monday at 9:30 available and ready to bargain. >> the woman you heard from the josey moony. she says they only spent 15 minutes with the district before being told by the mediator there would be no negotiations until 10 days from now, less than a week from the union's deadline august 4th. a union source indicated bart might train new operators to keep trains running. a retiree we spoke to said there would be two issues with that. operators are only certified for two years.

now, retirees also receiving money would not be able to work. let's thereon that represent right now -- retiree right now. >> i just couldn't do that. that is their likelihood. >> reporter: i just spoke with b.a.r.t spokesman rick rice just a moment ago. b.a.r.t says the mediator does not feel the chief if negotiator needs to be there. at which time the chief negotiator will be gone indeed until july 28th. despite this, rice says b.a.r.t's negotiating team will be available to discuss the latest proposals any time next week despite what officials say today. union officials say they will be back here at cal tran's head quarters asking for a new chief negotiator to deal with on monday. we will continue to follow this story for you. jade hernandez ktvu news. investigators are trying to

figure out what led someone to steal an ac transit bus and drive it almost 100 miles before being caught. the highway patrol was able to track through gps in oakdale. the bus was reported missing in san francisco this morning. police arrested the driver whether or not they say had experience behind the wheel of an ac transit bus. new charges in the case against a disgraced south bay politician have did that his sentencing at least until this fall. in courted to, attorneys for former santa clara supervisor argued that filing new charges in the case violates the terms of his plea agreement. he has already pled guilty to gambling with public funds and agreed to a year behind bars and to pay back tax payers. but then new charges emerged when prosecutors discovered his dna on the stamps of illegal campaign fliers that falsely accused a political foe of

being a communist. >> he's already pled guilty. he would have to break that plea. i don't think he has legal grounds to do that. >> prosecutors say they didn't realize he was involved in the case of the illegal mailers until his dna was collected as part of the book in process. the assistantd now says she expects him to be sentenced in september or october. state and local governments here in california are underreporting the amount of money they spend every year. the study by the california public policy centers say they underreport their expenditures in figuring out their future payments for unfunded liability. the executive director of that group says that is especially true in education pending. >> when we look at getting california's government restored, we have to look at the cities and counties and school districts because that's where seven times as much money

is being spent. >> he says government agencies should have the same requirement as corporations and produce a financial statement 90 days after the fiscal year ends. things are getting back to normal tonight after a gas line ruptured causing dozens of businesses to be evacuated. it happened on concord avenue about 9:30 this morning. fire crews say a third party construction crew hit the two inch high pressure line. pge was called. crews repaired the line about 2:30 this afternoon. a historic post office is officially up for sale despite public pleas to save it. the u.s. postal service has announced it will sell the almost century old post office because agencies says it is losing money and have to close post offices across the country. a group says it is hoping to block the sale by going to court to get a temporary restraining order. only on 2. a little boy bitten and hospitalized in the east bay. what you need to know now about

the i.c.u. he was bitten in the leg at a little league basketball gap last night about 7:00 p.m. the shake was in the grass. near black hawk field. the-year-old boy apparently stepped on the rattler. >> before the paramedics took him it was swelling and bruising. didn't look very good. >> had swelling, pain at the site. sometimes it can develop into respiratory issues. >> he receive education bill antivenom and is reported okay. rattlesnakes like this diamondback we found at the museum. >> her rattlers are big. >> they are not aggressi but more mobile in hot weathere and more likely to run into us. >> cruising around looking for food. with kids, especially, they are looking around and don't see what is around them.

hiatus. it's called music in the park. started about 40 minutes ago. runs until 9:00 tonight. two years ago the crowd grew to 80,000 at cesar chavez plaza. this year the concert was moved to the larger venue of st. james park. organizers also hired 27 security guard and 14 police officers. >> we're trying to find a new model. if it works, we would like to bring it back and tonight another 25 years. >> the city sold 2,000 advance tickets for tonight's concert which is being headlined. if all goes well organizers say they plan to continue music in the park next year. bike riders who use polk street in san francisco will soon have an easier time to get around. the transportation agency unvailed a new proposed configuration for that street from civic center up to the northern waterfront. the plan includes getting rid of many parking spots to build
